Semilab Foundation for
the Support and Promotion of
Science Education
Events
For high school students
Our interactive program “Physics Lesson on Location” takes approximately three hours and presents the basics and interesting facts about the semiconductor industry. High school students also have the opportunity to conduct individual experiments focusing on the importance of quality control and careers in science. In addition, during a tour, they may learn about Semilab’s activities and the role of measurement technologies in the semiconductor industry.
We accept applications for groups of up to 25 people per program.
For university students
Our student laboratory also welcomes university students as part of their curriculum or elective programs, allowing them to learn about the basics of the semiconductor industry as well as the theory and practice of various measurement technologies. In addition to the laboratory exercises, a guided tour will give them a closer look at what a clean room is like and what the daily work of our physicists and engineers involves.
We are looking for groups of 2-3 people for the laboratory exercises and groups of up to 25 people for the measurement demonstration.
The foundation's goals
The Semilab Foundation attaches great importance to the education and training of future generations — in, particular, the promotion of natural sciences and technical sciences, as well as the training of professionals engaged in research and innovation that is important for society as a whole.
The Foundation’s goal is to support technical and scientific research and education that will lead to the discovery of new scientific laws, knowledge,
methods, and procedures; to provide the conditions necessary for their implementation — including research and educational infrastructure — and the publication of their results.
In addition, the Foundation aims to support forms of education, training, and operation that promote the technical and natural sciences — from kindergarten through postgraduate education — and the training of the next generation.
One of the Foundation’s goals is to find individuals, primarily students pursuing higher education or postgraduate studies, as well as students enrolled in public education institutions and the teachers and instructors who educate them, who contribute to scientific progress through their dedication to the technical and natural sciences. The Foundation aims to assist and support the scientific activities, research, and innovative work of these individuals, and through this, to promote the technical and natural sciences more widely.
In line with its objectives, the Foundation therefore supports the editing, publication, dissemination and distribution of training methodology materials and other related publications, both in print and in digital forms (websites, portals and multimedia developments). It supports the organization and implementation of courses, lectures, camps, exhibitions, and conferences outside the school system.
The Foundation aims to help participants in the Hungarian scientific life to become involved in international scientific life by providing the personal and material conditions for further scientific training. It aims to provide support in ensuring equal opportunities for students and pupils who are exceptionally talented but underprivileged for some reason.
The foundation's activities
To achieve its goals, the Foundation supports technical and natural science activities, the promotion and conduct of related research. Its mission is to implement professional lectures, technical demonstrations, camps, conferences, exhibitions, and other events. It facilitates the participation of excellent students and their instructors in conferences and other professional events. It also organizes community-building activities and knowledge sharing for teachers. The Foundation provides financial help for students and their mentors to cover the costs of participating in school competitions. It also offers support for awarding prizes in school competitions and for participating in study trips.
The Foundation seeks to help other civil organizations and natural persons in line with its objectives. As such, the Foundation establishes scholarships and announces, evaluates grant applications. It is also important to engage experts with the highest possible level of competence and professional knowledge to help achieve its goals.
